Pain Management and Anesthesia

Brett Butz, M.D. graduated with a B.S. in cell biology from The University of Kansas and received his medical degree from Kansas University Medical Center. He completed his specialty training in Anesthesiology and sub-specialty Fellowship in Chronic Pain Management at Emory University. He has been in private practice since 2003 in the Atlanta area.

In 2007 he founded Comprehensive Anesthesia & Pain Professionals, LLC which focuses primarily an anatomic approach to pain management, employing the use of fluoroscopy for a wide range of procedures to diagnose and treat neck and low back pain, neuropathic pain and chronic regional pain syndrome among many other causes of chronic pain.

Dr. Butz believes that addressing the entire chronic pain syndrome (including the associated symptoms of depression and loss of function) is essential for optimal patient outcomes. By providing a personal, as well as multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of chronic pain, Dr. Butz is able to achieve high quality and long-term solutions for the management of chronic pain.
